SUPERDRUG HAUL

Superdrug haul!

As it’s coming up to Christmas I wasn’t expecting to be using the word haul around here at least until the end of the month. But Christmas means cold weather and cold weather means dry skin. Dry skin equals sadness and that’s just not allowed at Christmas time! It’s the law, right?

Oh the guilty conscious, you would think I had just dropped a fortune in Chanel.

…unfortunately not, but I did pick up some nice bits and pieces.

Superdrug Brightening hot cloth cleanser 150ml

I started using this when my last Liz Earle cleanse and polish ran out. I really like the whole cleanse and polish method when it comes to cleansing my skin. And I can’t say that I noticed a great deal of difference between the two in terms of what they do for the appearence of my skin. I actually prefer the smell (and price) of this one so I shall continue to repurchase it.

Garnier Micellar cleansing water 400ml

I got so excited when I saw this! A new contender to be a drugstore bioderma dupe! I’ve never actually tried bioderma. But the whole cleansing water concept has always held my curiosity. I shall keep you posted as soon as I have given this a try.

Garnier moisture match-Dry to very dry skin 50ml

I wrote a full review on this earlier in the year (here) I love it, and my skin loves it too!

Although it is always reasonably priced, it was on offer for a teeny £2.98 today.

-Rimmel Glam eyes Day 2 night mascara

Nothing new here! I remember there being a massive hype around this when it first came out.It was either last year or the year before, I can’t keep up! I didn’t give it a go back then. And I wasn’t really planning to pick it up. But after spotting these nail polishes I grabbed it to make up the 3 for 2.

-Rimmel Salon Pro Kate Moss 711 ‘Punk rock’

Around 2 years ago I was obsessed with a NARS nail polish.‘Galion’ was it’s name.

I speak in the past tense, it is still available. However, as much as I have ogled it on line and stroked it in Space NK, my nails are rubbish, and so I have never justified forking out £14 for it!

This, my friends is the dupe! A dark ‘stormy’ grey with an undertone of purple. This picture does it no justice! It is actually the polish dreams are made of!  (well my very strange dreams anyway ;)) ]

-Rimmel Finishing touch glitter top coat

Who can resist glittery nails in December? This is one of the 3 new topcoats from Rimmel. A clear base laden with fine Gold and multicolour glitter. I swatched this sneakily in the shop, (naughty and not advised especially in certain branches of Superdrug where you will be made to feel like a reprobate for doing so!)

It has to be the most perfect sparkly yet subtle finish for festive fingertips!!

So that’s it. No more spending for me. The word haul is now banished from this blog until Santa has been and gone. But do let me know if you are guilty of buying yourself pre-Christmas treats! (It will make me feel lots better!)

Home- Thrift shoppin’

Something a bit different from beauty today.I hope you don’t mind.

It’s still beautiful in its own way because it’s charitable and all!

Thrift shopping or ‘mooching around the charity shops’ if you don’t want to Americanise another term. Is something I do on the days that I’m broke after my direct debits come out. And need a shopping fix.

Today was one of those days.

If you are familiar with charity shops you will know that there is always a little tiny home ware section usually pushed towards the back of the shop.

At first glance it looks like it houses all of your grandparents’ old junk. But look closer. And if you can be bothered to pick through the Barry Manilow memorabilia and hideous china dolls, you can usually pick up some really cool/unique things to decorate your house.

Tea light holder- 50p. Not the best example of a unique find as I just spotted an Ikea sticker underneath it, ha!-Currently burning Yankee Midsummers night.
Blue glass jug £1-  I have no plans for this as yet. It’ll probably end up housing a fake flower of some sort.

Glass tray 50p- Evidently, I am the blogger equivalent of the girl who keeps the stickers on underneath her shoes!
The same glass tray- I haven’t decided whether to keep Jewellery in it. Or soap type products…

Books- I bought these from a charity shop a while ago, They were either £1 or £2 each. I tend to use nice books as decor, either on my dressing table or TV stand so I do judge them by their covers. Naughty I know!
5 piece photo frame- £2.50 I have looked at getting this kind of distressed, held together with rope photo frames for my bathroom for a while now. And never got around to actually buying one. So I was super happy to find this one like brand new. I hammered it into the wall as soon as I got in using my trusty Allegra boot heel/girl hammer.I just need to think of a theme for the photographs, or is it a new trend to have 5 pictures of a barbed wire fence? Let me know!

I’m pretty pleased with my little haul I spent £4.50 (not including the books.) And still got the shopping buzz minus the buyer’s remorse!

Do you spend much time in charity shops?

MAC & Space NK YAY!

So this weekend I finally got my MAC fix after being unable to go last weekend when I was  poorly (super hungover!)

I might have mentioned once or twice that I live in the middle of nowhere. The nearest MAC store is an hour away! So sadly I don’t get to visit as often as I’d like.

So that explains why this haul is the size that it is! Some of these items have been on my wish list forever!!

D’ya wanna see what I got?

So as there’s quite a bit to get through I’ll break them down.

Lipsticks

L-R Hue, Angel, Vegas Volt, Creme Cup, Impassioned.

I did take 6 items back to MAC so got Creme cup for free!

(sensible shopper right here!)

MSF’s & Blusher.

Oh and a brush!

L-R MSF in medium plus, MSF in Soft and Gentle, Pink Swoon blush.

Eye shadows

All that glitters E/S in the pot, (Top) Gleam and (bottom) Naked Lunch.

Essential bits and bobs

Select moisture cover concealer NW20, Blacktrack fluid line and Painterly paint pot.

And then Space NK happened…

Laura Mercier E/S in ‘Primrose’ and universal setting powder.

NARS E/S Duo in EGEA

The most unoriginal NARS purchases EVER! Deep Throat blusher and Turkish Delight lipgloss.

So after this lot, I have officially put myself on a month long spending ban! If you catch me posting a haul feel free to give me a slap on the wrist! I’m off now to take off my old makeup. Then reapply some of these new lovelies ready for Sunday dinner at the pub.

Hope you are all having a nice weekend
