Maybelline Baby skin instant pore eraser… first impressions…

So today I have been testing out the new launch from Maybelline’s ‘baby’ line. The baby skin instant pore eraser.

I love my peach kiss baby lips to death. So I have been really looking forward to getting my hands on this and giving it a try. Now that I have I wanted to share my first impressions with you…

Baby skin is a silicone based primer that claims to instantly erase the appearance of pores. I don’t have overly noticeable pores on my skin so I can’t comment too much on its effectiveness. Which is strangely annoying me!

What I noticed and loved though is how it gives a definite instant soft-focus effect. The smooth finish to the skin which combined with the silky gel texture makes it a dream when it comes to the application of foundation over it.

It can also be worn alone if you don’t really need any coverage. I think it would be great worn with a bit of concealer or tinted moisturiser in the summer for a natural look.

Packaging wise, I’m not gonna lie, not even a white one. The only reason I bought a tube of baby lips was due to its’ ultra cute packaging. I am a sucker for it! Maybelline has followed suit here with cute pastel packaging. The equally cutesy pink font may offend the uber chic but I love it!

At £7.99 for 22ml of product it’s definitely a good price to product ratio. Considering the tiny amount you need per application, it should last ages!

On first impressions, it gets a big thumbs up from me. I can’t find anything negative to say. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try if you are in the market for an affordable primer.I’ll keep you updated.

Available in Boots stores and online now.

Garnier Micellar cleansing water

Review- Garnier Micellar cleansing water

I picked up the Garnier Micellar Cleansing water a couple of weeks ago now.

Ever since then I have used it morning and night to remove my make-up. Then going double duty a with my hot cloth cleanser.

Application…

Simply squeeze the cleansing water onto clean cotton pads and swipe over face, neck and eyes to remove make-up and general grime.

The recommended amount of product is 2ml per cotton pad. That’s if you are aiming to get the 200 uses stated on the bottle.

I suppose the amount you need to use will depend on the kind of day you have had. And how much make-up you have on. Being a ‘bottle squeeze happy’ kinda gal though I have generally been using around 6 or 7 pretty heavily soaked cotton pads to remove all traces of make-up.

Scent…

Completely fragrance free. It really does feel like you are applying pure water on your skin.

Suitable for…

All skin types even sensitive.

Price…

£4.99 for a huge 400ml bottle.Nice!

Packaging…

Clear plastic squeezy bottle with pink accents…not the chicest of packaging but super cute, I like it!

Overall verdict/repurchase?

I am really enjoying using this product!

I love how gentle it feels on my skin while removing my make-up. A massive plus for this is that it passes the ‘eye sting’ test with flying colours! (seriously I literally squoze a fully soaked cotton pad in my eye and it didn’t sting!)

I couldn’t make this a comparison post against other micellar water cleansers because I haven’t tried any other brands but I am definitely converted to them after using this one, I would really recommend trying this one out especially because of the price and I would definitely repurchase!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing water is available in most high street chemists.

Online at * Amazon, Boots and Superdrug.

Dove dry shampoo

Review~Dove Dry Shampoo

I recently picked up the Dove refresh and care dry shampoo. Mainly because I have been doing the 30-day shred for the past few weeks. So I was in the market for a dry shampoo to refresh my sweaty fringe after a workout…gross I know!

I really can’t compare this to other dry shampoos. I have only ever briefly dabbled with the likes of Batiste and Tresemme. But not enough to form much of an opinion.

The Dove one is fab though! The first thing that I was pleased to find is that it doesn’t leave any white residue behind or feel sticky/heavy in my hair. It has a really fresh smell. My hair is left feeling like it has actually been washed! Even on days where the whole hair washing palaver is well overdue!

As well as absorbing oil and refreshing hair between washes. It also claims to give volume. My fine normal/oily hair takes a lot of persuading to volumise! I have found that using it on just washed damp hair at the roots while blow drying it, gives me a noticeable amount of volume and body.

Another thing to mention is that I’ve noticed when I spray it through the mid-lengths and ends it also adds texture to my hair. It’s basically a multi-tasking bottle of fabulousness!!

Dove refresh and care dry shampoo is currently on offer in Sainsbury’s for £2.30. Normal price £4.59
