Garnier Micellar cleansing water

Review- Garnier Micellar cleansing water

I picked up the Garnier Micellar Cleansing water a couple of weeks ago now.

Ever since then I have used it morning and night to remove my make-up. Then going double duty a with my hot cloth cleanser.

Simply squeeze the cleansing water onto clean cotton pads and swipe over face, neck and eyes to remove make-up and general grime.

The recommended amount of product is 2ml per cotton pad. That’s if you are aiming to get the 200 uses stated on the bottle.

I suppose the amount you need to use will depend on the kind of day you have had. And how much make-up you have on. Being a ‘bottle squeeze happy’ kinda gal though I have generally been using around 6 or 7 pretty heavily soaked cotton pads to remove all traces of make-up.

Completely fragrance free. It really does feel like you are applying pure water on your skin.

Suitable for…

All skin types even sensitive.

£4.99 for a huge 400ml bottle.Nice!

Clear plastic squeezy bottle with pink accents…not the chicest of packaging but super cute, I like it!

Overall verdict/repurchase?

I am really enjoying using this product!

I love how gentle it feels on my skin while removing my make-up. A massive plus for this is that it passes the ‘eye sting’ test with flying colours! (seriously I literally squoze a fully soaked cotton pad in my eye and it didn’t sting!)

I couldn’t make this a comparison post against other micellar water cleansers because I haven’t tried any other brands but I am definitely converted to them after using this one, I would really recommend trying this one out especially because of the price and I would definitely repurchase!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing water is available in most high street chemists.

Online at * Amazon, Boots and Superdrug.

Superdrug haul!

As it’s coming up to Christmas I wasn’t expecting to be using the word haul around here at least until the end of the month. But Christmas means cold weather and cold weather means dry skin. Dry skin equals sadness and that’s just not allowed at Christmas time! It’s the law, right?

Oh the guilty conscious, you would think I had just dropped a fortune in Chanel.

…unfortunately not, but I did pick up some nice bits and pieces.

Superdrug Brightening hot cloth cleanser 150ml

I started using this when my last Liz Earle cleanse and polish ran out. I really like the whole cleanse and polish method when it comes to cleansing my skin. And I can’t say that I noticed a great deal of difference between the two in terms of what they do for the appearence of my skin. I actually prefer the smell (and price) of this one so I shall continue to repurchase it.

Garnier Micellar cleansing water 400ml

I got so excited when I saw this! A new contender to be a drugstore bioderma dupe! I’ve never actually tried bioderma. But the whole cleansing water concept has always held my curiosity. I shall keep you posted as soon as I have given this a try.

Garnier moisture match-Dry to very dry skin 50ml

I wrote a full review on this earlier in the year (here) I love it, and my skin loves it too!

Although it is always reasonably priced, it was on offer for a teeny £2.98 today.

-Rimmel Glam eyes Day 2 night mascara

Nothing new here! I remember there being a massive hype around this when it first came out.It was either last year or the year before, I can’t keep up! I didn’t give it a go back then. And I wasn’t really planning to pick it up. But after spotting these nail polishes I grabbed it to make up the 3 for 2.

-Rimmel Salon Pro Kate Moss 711 ‘Punk rock’

Around 2 years ago I was obsessed with a NARS nail polish.‘Galion’ was it’s name.

I speak in the past tense, it is still available. However, as much as I have ogled it on line and stroked it in Space NK, my nails are rubbish, and so I have never justified forking out £14 for it!

This, my friends is the dupe! A dark ‘stormy’ grey with an undertone of purple. This picture does it no justice! It is actually the polish dreams are made of!  (well my very strange dreams anyway ;)) ]

-Rimmel Finishing touch glitter top coat

Who can resist glittery nails in December? This is one of the 3 new topcoats from Rimmel. A clear base laden with fine Gold and multicolour glitter. I swatched this sneakily in the shop, (naughty and not advised especially in certain branches of Superdrug where you will be made to feel like a reprobate for doing so!)

It has to be the most perfect sparkly yet subtle finish for festive fingertips!!

So that’s it. No more spending for me. The word haul is now banished from this blog until Santa has been and gone. But do let me know if you are guilty of buying yourself pre-Christmas treats! (It will make me feel lots better!)

Review: Garnier Moisture match for dry/very dry skin

So after four weeks of using the same moisturiser, this morning my tube of Garnier moisture match became impossible to squeeze any more product out of and so in beauty blogger land what better time to pop up a quick review?

Firstly a quick bit of blurb
Garnier have quite recently released a range of five moisturisers with different formulations which are tailor made to suit each individual skin type/complaint, they are…
‘Goodbye dry’ (the one I have)
for dry to very dry skin

‘Protect and glow’
for normal skin

‘Start afresh’
for normal/dry skin

‘Wake me up’
for dull skin

‘Shine be gone’
combination/oily skin
I stumbled across this range while I was on the lookout for a new high street moisturiser (the only one I have ever really liked is the oilatum dry skin repair) to try out and immediately thought how this was a great little niche for the high street, the packaging looked bright and fresh and it was the sort of thing that draws me straight in!
I picked up ‘Goodbye dry’ even though my skin for the most part is normal to dry, last month I really felt like I wanted to give myself an extra moisture boost! The first thing I noticed was that it didn’t disappoint in being lusciously rich and creamy in texture, however it glides onto the skin and absorbs perfectly quick enough to make a fantastic base for foundation.
Another thing to point out is the smell…mmmmmm…smells like fresh apples!!
Initially, being an impulsive shopper I picked up two out of the range the ‘Goodbye dry’ and the ‘Wake me up’ (gel formula) which I did end up putting back, but I will definitely be grabbing a tube to try when I tootle off to Superdrug for a repurchase of this!
Yes after four weeks of daily use I can safely say that I am most definitely in love with this moisturiser, it didn’t break the bank at £4.99 for a 50ml tube, it didn’t break me out once and my skin has felt like a ripe peach all month long, I even included it in my February favourites video <3
When I clicked on the Garnier website to check out the range I noticed that they are giving out free samples click here to get yours

Have you tried any of these moisturisers?
I’d love to know how well the other formula’s perform!
