I finally popped my Charlotte Tilbury cherry the other week! I know! ‘Forever behind the times’ should be tattooed on my forehead! I will be posting a haul on that soon. This afternoon I just have time to write a short post while Finn has a nap and the weather is lovely and stormy outside! I’m so Hygge right now! And I have no idea if I used that word in the correct way. (I’m leaving it there though without googling it) because it made me laugh! Basically, I’m cosy and in the mood to chat about my new lipstick.
Firstly, the packaging! Sleek, Classy, Rose Gold perfection which I really enjoy pulling out of my handbag for touch ups.
‘Penelope Pink’ is described on the Charlotte Tilbury website as a ‘Nude beige with subtle pink undertones.’ I get that when I swatch it on the back of my hand but it comes off more peachy than pink on my lips. It reminds me so much of MAC ‘Shy Girl’ which I can’t find for the life of me and I’ve therefore thrown all ‘Hygge’ out of the window between paragraphs searching for it.
The formula is creamy and it applies effortlessly because of this. The Pigmentation is there too. However, because of the formulation it does require blotting and setting to get a decent amount of wear out of it. Applied and left to her own devices Penelope won’t stick around for longer than 20 minutes.Flighty b*tch.
As well as being packed with ingredients (from ‘the lipstick tree’, someone take me there please!) to hydrate, soothe and protect lips from UV damage it claims to “contain light-diffusing pigments that give your lips a multi-dimensional finish to leave them looking full-bodied and luminous.” This for me is where this lipstick really delivers! Both in real life and in photographs this is absolutely evident and I fully appreciate it. So pretty!
To be honest I would have liked this lipstick to be closer to the description on the website. But I do enjoy wearing this kind of peachy nude shade, especially with a tan in the summer. I paired it with ‘Pillow talk’ lip liner and a smoky eye on a night out last week and loved that whole combination too so I’m happy to have it in my collection.

This looks like such a nice shade and I’ve got Secret Salma and that’s really beautiful too, although definitely a lot more dark pink toned! I think my favourite lipstick from this line is the Kim K.W lipstick though 🙂
