Charlotte Tilbury Haul 15

I was so excited to post this haul on here straight away. Unfortunately, my splurge last month coincided with my Dad taking back his fancy camera that he has kindly been allowing me the use of! These products are just too pretty for iPhone snaps. So I waited (not at all patiently, not even gonna lie) until he gave me fancy cam back. And it was bloody hard not to give them all a real good test drive in the meantime as I’m sure you can imagine!

Anyway, as if I have that much will power! The lipstick was the first casualty, then the lip liner, I HAD to try the sample of magic cream before a rare night out, and I used the eyeliner for a makeup look post see here. Finally, even though I have a new recent mascara love (makeup forever smokey lash), I decided I wasn’t likely to do the mini ‘Legendary lashes’ any harm by giving it a try! Basically, I used almost everything. Sod it. At least I can give you a few opinions. And as long as you don’t mind pictures of slightly used products, we alllll good!

The only thing I knew I wanted to try from CT was the lip liner. That aside I was going in pretty blind as there isn’t a counter that local to where I live.

When I saw this ‘Quick ‘N’ Easy’ makeup set in the Summer sale I thought it was a good way to introduce me to the brand. It was also a steal at £38 (+ 30% off with pro discount). Included in it is a mini (4ml) Legendary Lashes Black mascara, a full-sized Rock ‘n’ Kohl liquid eye pencil, a full-sized colour chameleon eyeshadow crayon and a full-sized lipstick.

Aside from a couple of the samples, this is the only full-sized product that I haven’t used yet. What I can tell you is that the formula is extremely smooth and easy to apply. Also, that swatch ☝️would not budge from my arm until the evening when I was in the shower. So I have very high hopes for it!

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick ‘Penelope Pink’

I don’t think that of all the shades of lipstick Charlotte Tilbury has that I would have picked out this lipstick in particular. But I was very happy that it was included in the quick ‘n’ easy makeup kit. As you can see I’ve used it quite a bit over the past month! It’s a really pretty Peachy-Pink nude that works well on me when I have a bit of a tan! I posted a full review here if you are interested in finding out more.

As I mentioned I have given this a go already. But to be honest I was in such a rush to get ready that day and all I did was give my lashes one very quick coat. So it wouldn’t be fair to write any kind of review. What I do recall noticing is that it didn’t flake or smudge throughout the day! So yay for that!

Charlotte Tilbury ROCK'N'KOHL liquid eye pencil 'Bedroom Black'

Charlotte Tilbury ROCK’N’KOHL liquid eye pencil ‘Bedroom Black’

This is one of the creamiest and most opaque Kohl liners I’ve ever used!! Unfortunately, my eyes are so sensitive and watery at the minute. I just can’t wear eyeliner without ending up looking like Heath Ledger’s Joker. I’m not happy about this at all! But I would highly recommend this if you are on the lookout for a decent black eyeliner!

My excitement was off the scale when it came to trying this out for the first time. I hate to be negative because it really is a lovely pencil in terms of formula, colour, and packaging. But I had picked up such a similar one (in all aspects) from Primark the week before that it was hard to get too excited about having spent more money on something near identical! So if you fancy a cheap alternative to ‘pillow talk’ check out this post.

The samples I chose with my order were the Overnight Bronze and Glow mask which I’m going to use next week before a night out (looking forward to both!!) The Magic cream which went a similar way to the mascara, totally rushing before I left the house that I barely paid it any attention. I do have some left though so hopefully I can try again! Then the Two lipstick samples I got were the K.I.S.S.I.N.G ‘Nude Kate’- a pale pink nude which I’m yet to try. I also got the matte revolution in the shade ‘Very Victoria.’ Which is an absolutely stunning Taupe nude and is now very firmly on my wishlist! Loved, loved, loved it!!

I’d definitely recommend checking out the Quick ‘n’ easy makeup kits which I believe are limited edition. Even at full price (£55), they are such good value for money! The products inside total around £20 more when bought separately. Plus you get a cute makeup bag too! Good times!!

I finally popped my Charlotte Tilbury cherry the other week! I know! ‘Forever behind the times’ should be tattooed on my forehead! I will be posting a haul on that soon. This afternoon I just have time to write a short post while Finn has a nap and the weather is lovely and stormy outside! I’m so Hygge right now! And I have no idea if I used that word in the correct way. (I’m leaving it there though without googling it) because it made me laugh! Basically, I’m cosy and in the mood to chat about my new lipstick.

Firstly, the packaging! Sleek, Classy, Rose Gold perfection which I really enjoy pulling out of my handbag for touch ups.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Eye Makeup Look 5

Urban Decay Naked Heat Eye Makeup Look and thoughts

So the latest edition to the Urban Decay Naked palette series was released online in Debenhams on Thursday. I had Siri remind me about it since I missed the pre-launch. The only Naked palettes that I already own are the Naked 2 basics and the original Naked (see here how well loved that bad boy has been!!) the 2 and 3 never really interested me and I have never gotten around to picking up the smoky which is the only other that caught my eye. That was until Urban Decay brought the Heat!!

Anyway, I ordered this on Debenhams and collected it yesterday afternoon. After purchasing a toy helicopter for Finn (which was a lengthy choosing process) she is finally home!

Of course, I could have done the decent thing and not swiped my finger into the most appealing shade ‘Lumbre’ before taking photographs. Clearly, I don’t have quite enough self-control. The others made it to the photo’s in one piece so I’m giving myself a pat on the back for that at least.

Urban Decay Naked Heat

I was initially going to do a first impressions post but I feel like there are already plenty of those to choose from in the blogosphere right now. I wanted to have a proper play and put together a makeup look using as many shades as I could. And this what I came up with.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Eye makeup look

Urban Decay Naked Heat Eye Makeup Look

Shades used in order of application

‘Sauced’ ~ Through the crease

‘Dirty talk’~ Underneath ‘Sauced’ 2/3 through the crease

‘Scorched’~ Outer edge of the eye 1/3 of the way over the lid

‘En Fuego’ ~Blended through the top lash line and into the Outer ‘V’

‘Ember‘ ~Outer ‘V for a bit of extra depth and definition.

‘Lumbre’~ over the lid- I applied this with a wet brush and love the outcome!!

‘Ounce’~ Inner corner highlight

I also blended a bit of each of the shades under the lower lash line.

Other products used

Makeup Forever Smoky Lash mascara
Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘n’ Khol eyeliner ‘bedroom black’ (tight line and waterline)
MAC Soft ochre paint pot as a primer
Illamasqua translucent powder to set paint pot.

Mystery lashes that I found in my drawer. They could be Primark ones??

Urban Decay Naked Heat Eye Makeup Look

I absolutely love this look! I love it more in real life as I’m currently using my iPhone to take blog pics it really doesn’t translate quite as well. 😫 also, I think I’m allergic to the eyeliner I used. You can probably tell that the outer corner of my eye is smudged. It wouldn’t stop watering.Annoying. Anyway, I know no one likes a whinger so moving on!

So I managed to get 7 out of the 12 shades onto my eyes!! For me, out of the colours that I used the stand out was ‘En Fuego’ (Matte Burgundy) which wasn’t a shade that stood out to me initially but it is just so pigmented and buttery soft it’s a dream shadow to blend with and what a beautiful colour!

‘En Fuego’ aside the other shades that I’m loving are, my initial fave ‘Lumbre’ and ‘Dirty Talk.’ The pale matte shades also didn’t disappoint even though I wasn’t initially that excited by them. They serve their purpose well in this palette.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Eye Makeup Look

Urban Decay rarely disappoints when it comes to eyeshadow pigmentation and blend-ability and the Naked Heat is keeping the torch held high (pun totally intended.) The only shadow that I feel slightly disappointed in is ‘Ember.’ I just felt that its pigmentation didn’t pack as much of a punch as the other shades. I expected more from it especially because it looks so stunning in the pan. I’m now thinking that it may work better foiled. Edit– I was so wrong about this shade. It’s actually stunning! Maybe it didn’t work with the brush I was using at the time but the second time around (on a MAC 224) I find it beautiful!!

So I think I’ll leave it here because I feel like I’m transitioning into ‘review mode.’ I do have a lot of initial thoughts about the packaging etc but I want to give this palette a proper spin before I post a full review.

Urban Decay Naked heat available online now at Debenhams £39.50

I’d love to know, if you have this palette, what your favourite shades and looks to do with it are??
